PULSE of PA Reaches Out

PULSE of PA maintains an active presence in the commnuity by supporting the efforts of local Pennsylvanians devoted to good health. If you have an event planned that you would like a representative from PULSE of PA to attend please call or email. Most requests can be fulfilled given at least a month's notice. Occasionally we can provide a representative on shorter notice. We look forward to hearing from you.

Adverse Events: Real or Perceived - Patient & Physician must Collaborate for Survival.

PULSE of PA Founder, Mary Ellen Mannix, will collaborate with Dr. Irv Krukenkamp, a cardiothoracic surgeon to present best communication practices for patients and physicians in the wake of preventable medical errors, adverse outcomes, and sentinel events. This unique presentation will be held at Harvard University during The Quality Colloquium 2008 (www.qualitycolloquium.org)

KIDS 4 KIDS Carnival Day

Saturday May 17th, 2008

10am to 3pm • The Shipley School in Bryn Mawr, PA

This event will be a fun-filled day with old-fashioned games and activities, created by kids and their coaches from local schools, all for a good cause. PLUS! Great food by Bryce’s Catering and a live DJ! Kids4Kids is presented by Ashley’s Angels and benefits the children of Camp Erin, a grief camp for children designed by The Moyer Foundation. Heart Strides 2007    September 30, 2007 PULSE of PA supports the efforts of The Congenital Heart Information Network and The Children's Heart Foundation in their cooperative missions. At their First annual Heart Straides Walk at Sesame Place in Langhorne, Pa PULSE of PA provided a display table, walkers and fundraising. It was a beautiful Fall day to enjoy the healthy walk and friendly support and encouragement for all those affected by Congenital Heart Defects!
 
Senior Expo    October 4, 2007 Come by our table at The Plymouth Meeting Mall to learn how you can help prevent a medical error from occurring in your healthcare. Senator Connie Williams hosts this event.
 
Senior Expo    October 26, 2007 Freshman Representative Bryan Lentz hosts a Senior Expo at The Brookhaven Borough Municipal Building from 11:00-2:00. PULSE of PA will be present to help our Seniors understand the importance of their active participation in their health care.

NQF & TMIT Forum    September 28, 2007 PULSE of PA was a participant of the Texas Medial Institute of Technology's Forum on Patient Safety during the 2007 National Quality Form Meeting in Washingtone DC.
 
Quality Colloquium    August 19 - 21, 2007 PULSE of PA Founder, Mary Ellen Mannix, was a scholarship recipient at the Quality Colloquium at Harvard University which engages health care leaders from throughout the United States.
